Product Details
+Dating to 1884 with a full Birmingham hallmark, this marvellous piece of antiquery inspired by the Aesthetic movement which found artistic joy in decorative art for its own sake and included artists such as Rosetti, Morris and Burne-Jones. The beautiful shape is emphasised with a border of Ivy (symbolising the ties of family) around the central panel of Roses (for LOVE) in a vase; picked out differing shades of Gold. Such skilled and clever workmanship!
To the reverse it has marks for Payton Pepper & Co of Vyse Street in Birmingham Jewellery Quarter. Please note, this piece does need some care when opening due to the 'balls' on the inner hinge. It measures 5cm, and 6cm including the bale which our clever jeweller has fashioned anew to replace the original which was worn. Please also note some of the 'balls' are a little damaged.
